Santa Barbara Police Activities League

The soccer program was created due to a need for a quality free soccer club team. During practices, beginning players learn the fundamentals of the game while the more experienced players strengthen their skills. PAL Soccer club teams are provided with jerseys, transportation and their tournaments fees along with lodging all courtesy of PAL. The boys are also required to maintain a 2.0 GPA and have no negative interaction with law enforcement.

Club Soccer was started by SBPAL in 2005.  Soaring costs for club soccer allowed only a small percentage of families to be able to participate. These teams participate in club soccer leagues in Ventura County as well as Santa Barbara County.  SBPAL teams have participated in the California State PAL tournament and have twice taken first place.

Club Soccer includes tournament play, travel to different locations and a broader range of competition based on playing in larger tournaments with more athletes. All uniforms, transportation, coaches, food, hotels and tournament fees are provided by SBPAL.

Club Basketball was started by SBPAL in 2001. Over the years for local youth to participate in high school sports, the competition made it almost impossible unless they had participated in club sports prior to attending high school.  The cost of club sports is prohibitive to most of the youth we serve. SBPAL recognized there was a need to develop a club atmosphere and competition at no cost to the individual athlete.
